ONE of the most established golf clubs in Singapore, Sentosa Golf Club was opened by Singapore's then-Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in 1974. With over 1,500 members, who include local and overseas politicians and the who's who of Singapore's high society, Sentosa Golf Club is the golf club of choice for politicians, dignitaries and celebrities alike. Sentosa Golf Club is also home to Asia's biggest National Golf Tournament - the Barclays Singapore Open, which saw 7 of the world's top 60 players and some of Asia's top golfers grace our fairways. These include Adam Scott, Lee Westwood, Nick O'hearn, and Thongchai Jaidee. The club has also hosted other top celebrities such as Nick Faldo, Bernard Langer, Annika Sorenstam, and Gary Player. Entertainment stars like Sally Yeh and husband George Lam, Patrick Tze, Francis Yip, Kitaro, Sylvester Stallone and Alan Tam have teed off our fairways as well.
Sentosa Golf Club
Taken from the Malay word Sentosa means `peace' and `tranquillity'. Designed for championship play, the Tanjong is challenging with spectacular holes. The Serapong Course was the venue for the World Qualifying Round of the Dunhill Cup in 1988 and was voted one of the best courses in Singapore by The Asian Golf Review and the inaugural Asian Golf Monthly Awards on several occasions. Sentosa is also the venue for the Singapore Open.
